Ansan City Seeks Ideas to Change Unreasonable Regulations

'2025 Ansan City Regulatory Innovation Idea Contest'
Open to Citizens, Business Owners, and Youth
Seeking Practical Ideas to Improve Unreasonable Regulations

On August 11, 2025, the city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold the '2025 Ansan City Regulatory Innovation Idea Contest' until September 19.

Ansan City Seeks Ideas to Change Unreasonable Regulations

This contest aims to identify and improve unreasonable regulations that citizens, small business owners, self-employed individuals, and young people experience in their daily lives.

The contest categories include proposals for improving regulations in all areas affecting citizens' lives, such as resolving restrictions on business activities for companies, improving inconveniences in citizens' daily lives, and rationalizing regulations for regional development. However, simple complaints, petitions, or suggestions that have already been submitted through other proposal systems are excluded from consideration.

Anyone who is an Ansan citizen or affiliated with a company, institution, or organization within the city is eligible to participate. Those wishing to enter can download the proposal application form from the 'News' section of the Ansan City Hall website, complete it, and submit it via email or postal mail. For more details, participants can check the Ansan City Hall website or contact the Planning and Budget Division at City Hall.

The city plans to review the submitted ideas and announce the winners in December. For the citizen contest, a total of six winners will be selected: one Grand Prize winner (500,000 KRW), one Excellence Prize winner (300,000 KRW), and two Encouragement Prize winners (100,000 KRW each). Awardees will also receive a certificate of commendation from the Mayor of Ansan.

The selected ideas will undergo internal review and will be reflected as actual regulatory improvement tasks, including amendments to local ordinances and proposals to central government agencies. Do Wonjung, Director of Planning and Economy at Ansan City, stated, "Through this contest, we will actively identify unreasonable regulations and establish practical, field-oriented improvement measures."
