Cultural Experiences and Career Exploration
Umi Hope Foundation announced on August 11 that it held the "2025 First Half Umi Dream Finder Overseas Camp" in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 5 to 9. Twenty-five children and adolescents from families affected by industrial accidents and multicultural families participated in the camp.
"Umi Dream Finder" is a customized career exploration program that began in 2018. It connects children and adolescents from multicultural and industrial accident-affected families with a "Dream Manager" on a one-to-one basis to help them design their career paths. In partnership with the global child rights NGO Good Neighbors, the program has provided various activities, including career experience opportunities and scholarship support.

This overseas camp was designed to broaden participants' career perspectives by allowing them to experience different cultures and workplaces firsthand. While in Vietnam, they received lifestyle and academic counseling from Korean students studying abroad and visited Korean companies operating in Vietnam. At the Korean Education Center in Ho Chi Minh City, they learned about the roles of overseas Korean institutions and related careers. The program also included cultural experiences such as a Vietnamese traditional food cooking class and a visit to the Reunification Palace.
Lee Choonseok, Secretary General of Umi Hope Foundation, said, "I hope that through the three-month one-to-one career exploration program and the overseas camp, the children have discovered their potential," and added, "We will continue to be a reliable partner so that the children can proactively pursue their dreams."
