President Lee Jaemyung, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore, stated, "I hope that by elevating the relationship between our two countries, we can further strengthen our friendly and cooperative ties in the future."
On August 8, President Lee wrote on Facebook, "Today marks the meaningful 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Singapore," expressing these sentiments.
President Lee also shared, "I exchanged congratulatory letters with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore, and together we celebrated the remarkable progress our two countries have achieved over the past half-century since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1975." He added, "I also look forward to embarking on a new journey of friendship for the next 100 years together."
President Lee included an English version of the message exchanged in the letters marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
