Gijang County, Busan, Recruiting Students for Second Half "Delivery Lectures" and "Alley Lectures"

Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) will be accepting applications for students for the "2025 Second Half Our Neighborhood Delivery Lectures and Visiting Alley Lectures" from August 11 to August 14.

The "Our Neighborhood Delivery Lectures" is a lifelong learning program in which instructors visit residents at their desired time and place. The "Visiting Alley Lectures" is a part of this delivery program, specifically operated for socially marginalized groups.

In the second half of this year, a total of 90 courses will be offered across seven fields: education and academics, languages, health, music, art and crafts, computers and communications, and home and lifestyle. Classes will run for 10 weeks from September 22 to November 28, and will be conducted both in-person and online. Online classes using ZOOM will also be available to enhance learning convenience.

Eligibility is limited to Gijang County residents aged 19 or older. For in-person courses, a group of at least 10 participants is required, while online courses require at least 7 participants to apply. For the Alley Lectures, applications can be made when a group of at least 7 people from marginalized groups such as basic livelihood security recipients, the near-poor, people with disabilities, multicultural, single-parent, or large families, seniors aged 65 or older, and working adults is formed.

To apply, the representative of the group should check the list of delivery instructors on the Gijang County Lifelong Learning website and submit the application form. The county will select courses based on an internal scoring system, prioritizing those with the highest scores.

A county official stated, "The delivery lectures and alley lectures are meaningful in improving residents' access to learning and providing diverse lifelong learning opportunities," adding, "We will actively support the program so that more residents can participate."
