Operating Profit Up 42% Year-on-Year... 10.5 Billion KRW
Strong Growth in Home Appliance Rentals and Smart Devices
LG HelloVision reported a significant improvement in performance in the second quarter of this year, with revenue and operating profit increasing by 25% and 42%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
On August 8, LG HelloVision announced that its revenue for the second quarter of 2025 reached 354.1 billion KRW and operating profit was 10.5 billion KRW, representing increases of 24.9% and 41.7%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
The increase in revenue was driven by the rental service and the supply project of devices to educational offices. Operating profit improved due to enhanced management efficiency and a reduction in depreciation expenses.
By business segment, broadcasting revenue decreased by 4.3% to 123.2 billion KRW, while the telecommunications and MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) segments recorded increases of 1.0% and 3.9%, reaching 34.3 billion KRW and 40.8 billion KRW, respectively.
Revenue from the home appliance rental business surged by 40.4% year-on-year to 45.1 billion KRW. Significant results were achieved thanks to sales of seasonal appliances such as air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and air purifiers, as well as the growth of the company’s direct online mall. Regional business revenue, which includes media and B2B transactions, also rose by 20.2% to 49.3 billion KRW.
Other business revenue, including orders for educational smart devices, increased by 37.9% to 61.3 billion KRW, contributing to the improvement in overall business performance. In particular, the education business benefited positively from the device supply project for the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education secured last year.
LG HelloVision introduced products such as contract-free high-speed internet, direct online mall exclusive products, self-subscription, and lightning-fast installation. In the MVNO segment, the company enhanced customer benefits by launching reasonable USIM plans and promotions in line with the release of new devices.
Lee Minhyung, Executive Director of LG HelloVision, said, "Performance improved in the first half of 2025 thanks to the growth of new businesses," adding, "We will continue to focus on securing profitability through strengthening product competitiveness and improving management efficiency."
