This volunteer activity was part of the "Nutritious Meal Support Project for Low-Income Elderly Living Alone," which was selected as an outstanding program by the Gwangju Volunteer Center and organized by Pyeonggang Hospice.

On this day, members of the Gwangju Women's Volunteer Association and local volunteers joined together to carefully prepare and deliver Samgyetang, chicken porridge, kimchi, and other dishes directly to the homes of elderly residents.

Joo Imrok took part in the entire volunteer process, from cooking to delivery. Despite the intense heat, he personally tended the Samgyetang pot and delivered the prepared meals himself, checking on the well-being of local seniors.

Joo stated, "I participated with the hope that a bowl of Samgyetang would provide a small but warm comfort to elderly people living alone during the heat of Jungbok," adding, "I am grateful that I could share even a little warmth with seniors who may feel deeper loneliness than the heat itself."

He continued, "I hope the culture of the community caring for and reaching out to one another will continue to spread," and added, "I will ensure that this is not a one-time event but will be followed by ongoing interest and action."

Meanwhile, Bang Jaeyoung, Editor-in-Chief of Joongang News Times, contributed to the spirit of sharing by donating 60 chickens for Samgyetang for the event. Park Hyunsook, President of Pyeonggang Hospice, expressed her gratitude, saying, "I thank everyone who joined their hearts in this effort."

This nutritious meal sharing volunteer activity is being recognized as an exemplary case of public-private cooperation, providing practical care for local elderly residents.
