[Tomorrow's Weather] Heat Continues Despite "Ipchu"... Seoul High Reaches 32 Degrees

On August 7, which marks Ipdchu, the official beginning of autumn, most regions across the country are expected to experience continued heat with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on August 6, a low-pressure system moving from North Korea toward the East Sea is expected to collide with hot and humid air flowing in from the southwest on August 7. This will result in very heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds, especially in the southern regions. In some areas of Jeonnam and Gyeongnam, extremely heavy rainfall of around 70 millimeters per hour is expected during the early morning hours.

Rain is expected to continue until the morning in southern Chungcheong and most southern regions (excluding central and northern Gyeongbuk), and until nighttime in Jeju Island.

In southeastern Gyeonggi, Gangwon Province, inland Chungcheong, and central and northern Gyeongbuk, rain is forecast between the morning and afternoon. In some parts of Gangwon and central and northern Gyeongbuk, rain may persist into the evening. In Seoul, Incheon, and some other areas of the capital region, only light rain or a few drops are expected.

While the heat may temporarily subside during the rain, high humidity will cause the perceived temperature to reach up to 34 degrees Celsius.

Morning lows are forecast to range from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from 28 to 34 degrees Celsius. The minimum and maximum temperatures in major cities are expected to be: Seoul 25 and 32 degrees, Incheon 25 and 29 degrees, Chuncheon 23 and 32 degrees, Gangneung 25 and 30 degrees, Daejeon 25 and 32 degrees, Gwangju 26 and 32 degrees, Daegu 26 and 34 degrees, Busan 27 and 32 degrees, and Jeju 28 and 31 degrees.
