Broadcaster Hong Jinkyung has divorced after 22 years of marriage.

On August 6, her agency TN Entertainment announced, "Hong Jinkyung divorced several months ago."

On the same day, Hong Jinkyung appeared on fellow broadcaster Jung Sunhee's YouTube channel 'Jip Nagan Jung Sunhee' and said, "It was not anyone's fault that we separated. We just decided to try living differently."

Hong Jinkyung explained, "I met my husband in 1998. I spent 27 to 28 years with only him," and added, "It was not anyone's fault that we separated. I just wanted to try living differently."

She continued, "Only after we became strangers did we truly regain our friendship. He has become the good oppa I trusted and relied on when we were dating," and added, "He still comes to the house often, and our families continue to meet each other well."

Hong Jinkyung married businessman Kim, a non-celebrity, in 2003 and gave birth to a daughter in 2010.

Hong Jinkyung made her debut in the entertainment industry in 1993 by winning the Best Pose Award at the 2nd Super Elite Model Contest. She has been active in various roles as an MC, DJ, and variety show guest. In 2023, she received the KBS Entertainment Awards' Top Excellence Award, and last year, she won the Best Female Entertainer in the TV category at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards.
