Sunchang County Launches Electric Vehicle Supply Project Sunchang County will actively implement the second half of the year electric vehicle distribution project aimed at spreading eco-friendly vehicles and improving air quality. Provided by Sunchang County

The county plans to supply a total of 25 vehicles, including 20 electric passenger cars and 5 electric trucks, with a total project budget of 414.11 million won. Applications will be accepted from August 6 until the budget is exhausted.

Buyers of electric passenger cars will receive a purchase subsidy of up to 12.1 million won depending on the vehicle model, while electric truck buyers can receive up to 17.5 million won. For ultra-compact electric vehicles, a fixed subsidy of 3.6 million won for passenger cars and 6.3 million won for trucks will be provided.

Eligibility is limited to individuals aged 18 or older who have resided in Sunchang County for at least three consecutive months, as well as organizations, corporations, and institutions with business locations within the county. In particular, additional support will be provided to vulnerable groups, small business owners, multi-child families, first-time vehicle buyers, and those who purchase an electric vehicle after scrapping an old diesel vehicle.

Those wishing to purchase must first sign a purchase contract with an electric vehicle manufacturer or dealer, then submit an application through the zero-emission vehicle subsidy system. After being notified of selection, the vehicle must be delivered within two months, and the subsidy must be applied for within 10 days after vehicle registration.

Recipients of the subsidy are required to maintain legal minimum operation periods from the initial registration date of the electric vehicle (two years for general use, eight years for export). If the vehicle is sold or transferred to another region during this period, a portion of the subsidy must be returned based on the length of operation.

A county official stated, "As air pollution caused by vehicle emissions becomes more serious, the transition to eco-friendly transportation is urgent. Through this electric vehicle supply project, we aim to contribute to greenhouse gas reduction and air quality improvement, while easing the financial burden on residents and actively encouraging the purchase of electric vehicles."
