Chungnam Office of Education Signs Collective Agreement with National School Irregular Workers Solidarity Council

The Chungnam Office of Education announced on August 5 that it had signed the 2025 collective (by job category) agreement with the National School Irregular Workers Solidarity Council at the provincial office's conference room.

This round of collective bargaining was based on the negotiation request submitted by the National School Irregular Workers Solidarity Council in January 2022 and was conducted over approximately two and a half years, with a total of 40 sessions. As a result, final agreements were reached on 26 job categories and 105 provisions.

The agreement includes measures such as expanding opportunities for voluntary training during school vacations, improving the number of paid days for school meal staff, converting after-school care workers to permanent positions, and converting elementary sports instructors to indefinite-term contracts. These measures are aimed at improving the working conditions and job security of field workers.

Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol stated, "This is a meaningful result in which both labor and management have come together to realize student-centered education in Chungnam through mutual respect and cooperation," and added, "We will continue to provide unwavering support so that public employees can work with pride."

The Chungnam Office of Education plans to maintain close communication with the National School Irregular Workers Solidarity Council and accelerate efforts to improve the working environment at educational sites and create a happy educational environment for children.
