The Five Original Members Reunite for the First and Last Nationwide Tour
A Complete Lineup After 57 Years Since Formation
Twin Folio to Perform Together for the First Time in 55 Years
The concert planning company Showplus announced on August 6 that the five original members of the legendary Korean folk music group "C'est Si Bon" will hold their final nationwide tour concert.
This concert marks both the first and last nationwide tour featuring all five founding members?Song Chang-sik, Cho Young-nam, Yoon Hyung-joo, Kim Se-hwan, and Lee Sang-byeok. It is a "complete lineup" performance for the first time in 57 years since the formation of C'est Si Bon. The tour will begin in Seongnam on September 6, followed by performances in Seoul on October 11, and continue in major cities including Busan, Incheon, Suwon, Goyang, Daegu, and Daejeon.
Showplus explained, "Unlike previous concerts where only some members performed, this is the first time all members are appearing together," and added, "Since this is officially announced as their final nationwide tour, it will be a meaningful stage." Notably, the folk duo "Twin Folio," formed by Song Chang-sik and Yoon Hyung-joo, will perform together for the first time in 55 years.
The direction will be led by writer Kim Il-tae, who produced shows such as "Saturday Saturday Is Fun," "100-Minute Show," and "Saturday Parade." Showplus stated, "The concert will include segments such as past footage of the members recreated with artificial intelligence (AI) technology, collaborative stages with young artists, and a section themed around the 57-year friendship of the members."
This tour will once again be produced by Kim Seok, CEO of Showplus, who previously planned the "C'est Si Bon Friends" concerts in the 2010s. CEO Kim said, "It was not easy to bring these five artists with such distinct musicality and personalities together on one stage, but everyone readily agreed," and added, "This concert will be a significant moment recorded in the history of Korean popular music."
In the late 1960s, the music listening room "C'est Si Bon" in Mugyo-dong, Seoul, was recognized as the center of folk music, with artists such as Song Chang-sik, Yoon Hyung-joo, Kim Se-hwan, Cho Young-nam, Lee Sang-byeok, and Lee Jang-hee performing there. Their popularity was rediscovered after appearing on the MBC variety show "Come to Play" in 2010, which led to a series of nationwide tour concerts.
