E8 and Ewha Seoul Hospital to Develop AI-Based Cerebrovascular Disease Diagnostic Solution

Ontology-based AI digital twin specialist company E8 announced on August 5 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital (hereafter referred to as Ewha Seoul Hospital) for mutual cooperation in the joint development of patient-specific blood flow simulation and AI analysis technologies.

E8 and Ewha Seoul Hospital to Develop AI-Based Cerebrovascular Disease Diagnostic Solution

This agreement was established so that both institutions can advance patient-specific blood flow simulation and AI-based analytical technologies, thereby promoting innovation in precision medicine and smart healthcare. In particular, the core of this agreement is to conduct joint research to investigate how individual differences in hemodynamics affect diseases such as stroke and cerebral infarction.

Through this agreement, E8 and Ewha Seoul Hospital plan to closely collaborate in various areas, including joint research on patient-specific blood flow simulation and AI analysis, commercialization efforts to apply research outcomes and expand service models, and research planning for the development of other AI-based patient-specific solutions.

Song Taejin, Director of Ewha Cerebrovascular Hospital, stated, "Cerebrovascular diseases are the third leading cause of death in Korea, and early diagnosis and prediction are crucial for survival. The AI blood flow simulation technology developed through this collaboration with E8 is expected to enable more precise and rapid diagnosis, thereby contributing to improved treatment outcomes and survival rates."

Han Seungho, Director of Ewha Medical Academy, explained, "In the current medical paradigm shift from treatment-focused to prevention and personalized management, integrating digital twin technology that combines morphology and hemodynamics is a very important factor for more accurate diagnosis and treatment. The research data and visualization technology on human anatomy secured by Ewha Medical Academy will play a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions that can be practically applied in clinical settings through cooperation with E8."

An E8 representative emphasized, "Through our collaboration with Ewha Seoul Hospital, we will accelerate the advancement of patient-specific blood flow simulation and AI interpretation technologies, and furthermore, present a new paradigm in the field of precision medicine. In particular, since Ewha Seoul Hospital already possesses a vast amount of detailed medical data, we believe that developing AI diagnostic algorithms based on hemodynamics using this data is fully feasible."
