According to the Office of Education, it was confirmed that these instructors received money and valuables in exchange for selecting books sold by a specific bookstore as textbooks for the Neulbom School. It was found that they worked as after-school instructors at 17 elementary schools in the district last year.

The Office of Education received a civil complaint in October last year, after which it checked the instructors' transaction records and conducted an investigation. Based on the results, the office terminated contracts with the instructors involved and reported them to the police.

An official from the Office of Education stated, "We will clarify the principal's responsibility for textbook selection and strengthen supervision and management to prevent any recurrence of corruption between instructors and textbook suppliers."
