Applications Open for Island Guesthouses and Restaurants Until the 29th
"Boosting Stay-Type Tourism with 'Accommodation + Cuisine' Content"
Yeosu City announced on the 4th that, as part of the preliminary program for the '2026 Yeosu World Island Expo', it is accepting applications from island area guesthouses and restaurants to participate in the 'Island 1 Night 3 Meals' and 'Island Table Certification Program' until the 29th. This initiative is part of the 'Rest & Gourmet Journey' program, a pre-event related to the Yeosu Island Expo.
'Island 1 Night 3 Meals' will select accommodations (including guesthouses) and restaurants in island areas that can provide a pleasant lodging environment and serve three or more distinctive island dishes as three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
The 'Island Table Certification Program' targets restaurants that offer three or more island dishes made with seasonal island specialties and meet basic operational requirements such as having standard tables, pest control, and maintaining good hygiene conditions.
The city will conduct on-site inspections of the applicant businesses to check hygiene, facility conditions, and whether they meet the selection criteria, with the final selection scheduled for November.
A city official stated, "Through the 'Island 1 Night 3 Meals' and 'Island Table Certification Program', we hope to provide visitors with a tourism experience that combines accommodation and island cuisine, thereby contributing to revitalizing the island region's economy," and added, "We encourage many lodging and restaurant businesses to participate."
