Full-scale Promotion of Digital Cadastral Map Creation
for 116 Parcels Covering 15,336 Square Meters
On August 4, Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced that it will begin full-scale implementation of the cadastral resurvey project for the Wonnae 1 District (116 parcels, 15,336㎡), which has been designated as this year's project site.
The cadastral resurvey project is a long-term, state-led initiative to digitize paper cadastral maps created during the Japanese colonial period and to correct boundaries that do not match the actual land conditions. The purpose is to reduce land disputes caused by boundary discrepancies and to enhance the fairness and accuracy of land administration.
Gijang County recently completed an on-site survey of all parcels in the Wonnae 1 District using drones and precision surveying equipment. Based on this survey, the county will sequentially proceed with procedures such as boundary adjustment, installation of temporary boundary markers, and the creation of digital cadastral maps. Subsequent administrative processes, including the organization of cadastral records and correction of registrations, will also be carried out in parallel.
Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "This cadastral resurvey will serve as an opportunity to resolve long-standing boundary disputes and cadastral inconsistencies, and to strengthen the protection of residents' property rights." He added, "I ask for the interest and cooperation of all residents so that the project can proceed smoothly."
