To support the residents of Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province who suffered significant damage from the recent wildfire, the North Gyeongsang Province branch of the Korea Electrical Engineers Association organized a volunteer activity to connect electricity to temporary storage facilities.
This volunteer effort was carried out under close cooperation between the Future Energy Hydrogen Division's Renewable Energy Team at the East Sea Regional Headquarters of North Gyeongsang Province and the North Gyeongsang Province branch of the Korea Electrical Engineers Association. It was implemented as an emergency measure to help disaster victims restore their daily lives after losing their homes, essential supplies, and storage space for household goods.
The electrical connection work was completed for 32 households on August 2, and additional work for 42 households is scheduled for September 6. This initiative was quickly coordinated and supported for wildfire victims through the cooperation of the Construction Safety Division and the Rural Economy Division's Energy Team of Yeongyang County Office.
An official from the North Gyeongsang Province branch of the Korea Electrical Engineers Association stated, "It was very rewarding to participate in such a meaningful volunteer activity with our members," and added, "We will continue to spread positive influence and strive to contribute to the local community."
County Governor Oh Dochang said, "In the midst of this unexpected disaster, such volunteer activities are providing significant support for the quick return to daily life for the affected residents," and expressed his deep gratitude for the dedicated efforts of both the North Gyeongsang Province branch of the Korea Electrical Engineers Association and the Future Energy Hydrogen Division's Renewable Energy Team at the East Sea Regional Headquarters of North Gyeongsang Province."
