Doubling Daily Visitor Capacity to Expand Access
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on August 4 that it will change the operation of the public water play facility 'Dongtan Family Pool' from an all-day system to a two-shift system starting August 5.

Dongtan Family Pool, located in Seokwoo-dong, Hwaseong, is an outdoor water play facility that opened on a trial basis on July 19. It features four types of pools: an aqua pool, a lazy river pool, a heated pool, and a toddler pool. In addition, the facility is equipped with a riverside observation deck, an outdoor shower area, and a ground fountain.
The city explained that, since opening, the facility has been fully booked every day, and the change in operation is in response to citizens' requests for greater access. By changing from an all-day system to a two-shift system, the daily capacity will increase from 850 to 1,700 visitors.
The two-shift system will be implemented from August 5 until the end of operation on August 31. The first shift will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Dongtan Family Pool can be accessed through advance reservation on Naver. Hwaseong residents can make priority reservations starting three days before their intended visit, while non-residents can reserve one day in advance. For more information, inquiries can be made to Hwaseong Urban Corporation.
Along with the expanded operation, the city will hire five additional staff members, including safety personnel, to further strengthen safety management for visitors.
Hwaseong Mayor Jung Myung-geun said, "We will do our utmost to ensure safety management so that visitors can use the facility with peace of mind."
