Accelerating Expansion in the Georgian Market... Major Infrastructure Projects Signal Green Light
Collaboration Expected on Landmark Projects Such as 70,000-Seat Stadium and Airport Expansion
Leveraging Success in Azerbaijan to Broaden Influence Across the Caucasus Region
Heerim Architects & Planners (Heerim) announced on August 4 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a strategic partnership with MAQRO Group, a leading investment and development company in Georgia.
Through this agreement, Heerim will participate as a key partner in MAQRO Group’s large-scale infrastructure projects underway in Georgia, and is expected to accelerate its business expansion in the Caucasus region.
MAQRO Group is one of the top five investment companies in Georgia, operating in various sectors including construction, tourism, and hotels. Currently, the Georgian government is preparing for large-scale infrastructure improvement projects, such as the construction of a football-only stadium with a capacity of approximately 70,000 seats to host the UEFA Champions League final, the expansion of Kutaisi Airport, and the construction of a new Tbilisi airport, in line with the growth of the tourism industry.
Heerim and MAQRO Group have agreed to actively cooperate in securing these major projects through this MOU. This is not the first partnership between the two companies. Heerim previously carried out the concept design for a large-scale development project in Batumi, Georgia, led by MAQRO Group, and provided design review services for the Tbilisi Ice Arena. Currently, Heerim is designing a five-star hotel and residence in central Tbilisi. In addition, the two companies plan to continue their collaboration in the development of 'MAQRO City', a project involving approximately 4,000 residential units.
Emin Ucar, Chairman of MAQRO Group, stated, "Heerim is a company with extensive international experience in design and project management, and we have successfully collaborated in Azerbaijan as well. As our very important strategic partner, Heerim will work with us on a variety of projects in Georgia, including stadiums and airports."
Meanwhile, Heerim successfully entered the Georgian market based on its experience in delivering numerous landmark projects in Azerbaijan, such as the Baku Olympic Stadium and the SOCAR headquarters, since its entry into Azerbaijan in 2007.
A representative from Heerim said, "Based on our successful experience in Azerbaijan and our strong trust-based relationship with MAQRO Group, we expect to achieve excellent results in Georgia's major infrastructure projects."
