Kongju National University and Chungnam National University Reach First Integration Agreement: "No Forced Staff Transfers"

Agreement Reached on Voluntary and One-to-One Staff Transfers Principles

Kongju National University and Chungnam National University Reach First Integration Agreement: "No Forced Staff Transfers"

As part of efforts to promote a glocal university based on integration, Kongju National University and Chungnam National University have reached their first official agreement regarding staff personnel transfers.

On August 1, Kongju National University announced that it had signed the "Agreement on Personnel Matters for Staff of the Integrated University" at the reception room of the Chungnam National University main administration building.

This agreement formalizes mutual cooperation between Kongju National University President Lim Kyungho and Chungnam National University President Kim Jungkyum.

According to the agreement, both universities will not, in principle, force staff transfers between campuses within the integrated university. The voluntary intention of the staff members themselves will be given the highest priority.

In addition, if unavoidable personnel transfers are necessary, a one-to-one transfer between staff members will be the basic principle. Major personnel matters will be separately determined by the integration promotion committee, which will include representatives of the staff.

This personnel agreement is the first official measure taken during the process of establishing an integration implementation plan after Kongju National University and Chungnam National University were selected for the Ministry of Education's glocal university project preliminary designation in May. It aims to alleviate staff concerns about personnel issues arising from campus integration.

Meanwhile, from August 4 to August 6, both universities plan to hold a vote among all members (faculty, staff, teaching assistants, undergraduate students, and graduate students) on whether to approve the submission of the final implementation plan for the glocal university designation.
