Kia announced on August 1 that it sold 262,705 vehicles in the global market in July this year, marking a 0.3% increase compared to the same month last year.
Of this total, 45,017 units were sold in Korea and 217,188 units were sold overseas. Compared to the same period last year, domestic sales decreased by 2.2%, while overseas sales increased by 0.9%. (Excluding special sales)
By model, the Sportage was the best-selling vehicle globally with 46,901 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 28,538 units and the Sorento with 17,852 units.
Last month, the best-selling vehicle in Korea was the Carnival with 7,211 units sold, followed by the Sorento with 7,053 units, the Sportage with 5,424 units, and the Seltos with 4,921 units.
Overseas, the Sportage was the top-selling model with 41,477 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 23,617 units and the K3 (including K4) with 16,813 units.
A total of 500 special vehicles were sold, with 116 units sold domestically and 384 units sold overseas.
A Kia representative stated, "Thanks to strong global sales of eco-friendly vehicles, we have continued year-on-year sales growth for six consecutive months," and added, "In August, we aim to maintain our sales momentum by ramping up exports of the EV4 and expanding our eco-friendly lineup with models such as the PV5 and EV5."
