This was the fourth regular meeting held this year. During the meeting, five agenda items were resolved, including the adoption of a proposal urging the enactment of the Residents' Autonomy Council Act and the adoption of a proposal to reorganize the cost-sharing structure for the public management system of city buses in Gyeonggi Province. The association also announced that it had donated 2 million won in disaster relief funds to Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province, which suffered significant damage from heavy rainfall last month.
During his opening remarks, Kim Seungho, Chairperson of the Association, stated, "It is very meaningful to hold the 178th regular meeting here in Yangju City, a place rich in history and culture. I hope today's gathering will go beyond a simple meeting and serve as an important opportunity to further strengthen cooperation and communication among local councils. I sincerely wish that the residents of Gapyeong and other flood-affected areas will be able to return to their daily lives as soon as possible after the record-breaking rainfall."
Meanwhile, city and county councils in Gyeonggi Province are supporting flood recovery efforts in Gapyeong County and other affected areas, with each council's members taking the lead in providing assistance.
