Inspection of Cooking Utensil Cleanliness and Hygiene Practices
On August 1, Sunchang County in North Jeolla Province announced that it will conduct hygiene inspections of food service establishments in preparation for the 9th Sunchang Gangcheonsan National Youth Baseball Tournament, which will be held from August 9 to 14.
The county will carry out hygiene guidance and inspections until August 7 in order to protect the health of participating teams and spectators during the tournament period, and to prevent hygiene incidents such as food poisoning.
This inspection will focus on promoting food poisoning prevention guidelines and thoroughly reviewing overall hygiene management, taking into account the seasonal characteristic of increased risk of food poisoning due to rising summer temperatures.
The main inspection items include: ▲ cleanliness of cooking utensils ▲ hygienic handling of food ingredients and prepared foods ▲ compliance with hygiene regulations by business operators. The inspections will be conducted meticulously and systematically, covering all aspects of food hygiene.
A county official stated, "We will create a safe food environment through thorough hygiene inspections of food service establishments," and added, "We will do our utmost in hygiene management so that both local residents and visitors can enjoy the tournament with peace of mind."
Meanwhile, the county aims to use this tournament as an opportunity to raise the level of food safety, and plans to continue its efforts to create a safe local environment free from food poisoning through ongoing attention and management.
