Sejong City has been selected as an outstanding institution in the national safety education status inspection and evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This result was based on a comprehensive evaluation of 268 organizations, including central government ministries and local governments nationwide, focusing on 19 quantitative indicators as well as special policies, best practices, the level of interest shown by the head of each institution, and the promotion of safety policies.
Sejong City was ultimately selected as an outstanding institution after receiving high marks for its best practices in developing safety education programs, training professional personnel, and supporting community safety education.
In particular, the city's notable achievements included conducting a survey on citizens' safety practice capabilities, operating a special emphasis week for two-wheeled vehicle safety, promoting a campaign to encourage regular use of bicycle locks, supporting survival swimming education, and publishing a safety magazine.
Koh Sungjin, Director of Citizen Safety, stated, "We will create a safer living environment together with citizens through highly practical safety education," and added, "Taking this selection as an outstanding institution as an opportunity, we will further strengthen our sustainable safety education system."
