Actress Yum Jungah returns as a single mother raising her daughter alone while working as a construction site manager in tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama "First, For Love."

At the online production presentation held on July 30, Yum Jungah said, "I'm a mother who laughs and cries because of the one daughter I love most in the world," and added, "As a mother raising a child myself, I could deeply relate to many of the situations in the drama." She especially noted, "The way my daughter, now a college student, starts to rebel felt very realistic."

Park Haejoon plays Ryu Jungseok, Yum Jungah's first love and an architect raising his son alone. He said, "Jungseok is a character who has lived with a closed heart, and the process of recovering his emotions is central to the story," adding, "Personally, I also needed a warm story that could provide emotional comfort."

The drama depicts the story of two families, each with their own circumstances, settling in a rural village and living together. Choi Yoonji plays Yum Jungah's daughter Lee Hyori, and Kim Mingyu plays Park Haejoon's son Bohyun.

The series is directed by Yoo Jewon, who previously directed "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" (2021) and "Crash Course in Romance" (2023), and written by writer Sung Woojin. Director Yoo explained, "The drama deals with a variety of emotions, including middle-aged romance, the growth of youth, and conflicts and reconciliation within families," but emphasized, "The mother-daughter relationship is given more focus."

Regarding the comma in the title "First, For Love," the production team stated, "The intention is to emphasize both the word 'first' and the emotion of 'love,'" and added, "The drama goes beyond a simple first love to capture 'beginnings' and 'love' in various relationships." The drama will premiere on August 4 at 9:20 p.m.
