Gwangju City Provides Flood Recovery Support in Gapyeong County
About 90 Participants, Including City Officials, Work Hard to Remove Debris from Farms

On July 30, the city of Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, participated in flood recovery efforts and provided support for disaster victims in the Sang-myeon area of Gapyeong County, which recently suffered significant damage due to heavy rainfall.

Approximately 90 people took part in the recovery activities, including Mayor Bang Sehwan, city officials, the Gwangju City Government Employees' Union, the Gwangju City Volunteer Center, and the Gwangju City Sports Association for the Disabled. They worked together to remove debris and clean up the affected farms and surrounding areas.


In addition to practical recovery efforts, the city of Gwangju continues to provide administrative support to assist Gapyeong County. Since July 25, two city officials have been dispatched to the disaster site to conduct damage assessments and assist with recovery. The city is also providing additional disinfection vehicles and personnel to prevent infectious diseases.

Mayor Bang Sehwan, who participated in the recovery activities on site, said, "I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the residents of Gapyeong County, who have suffered great losses due to the sudden flooding," and added, "The city of Gwangju will do its utmost to help the disaster victims return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
