Yongin City Completely Replaces Old Streetlights in Jukjeon, Sanghyeon, and Pungdeokcheon with LEDs

131 Streetlight Fixtures and 116 Streetlight Poles

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it has completely replaced the old streetlights in the areas of 1399 Jukjeon-dong and 868 Sanghyeon-dong, Suji-gu, with LED lights.

This project was carried out because the streetlights had been installed for over 15 years, resulting in frequent malfunctions such as lighting failures and flickering, and because there was a need to improve illumination in some child protection zones and areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.

For this purpose, the city invested a budget of 300 million won to replace 131 streetlight fixtures and 116 streetlight poles in the areas of Jukjeon-dong, Sanghyeon-dong, and Pungdeokcheon-dong.

By replacing the streetlights, the city not only improved energy efficiency but also met the standards set by the public institution energy use rationalization guidelines. In particular, the design was also improved in consideration of the urban landscape.
