The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 30th that it has officially launched the 'Consumption Revitalization Task Force (TF)' to restore consumer sentiment nationwide and boost the vitality of local commercial districts, and held its first meeting.

Minister Han Seong-sook of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups requested, on the occasion of the public-private joint 'Domestic Demand and Consumption Revitalization Campaign' declaration held the previous day, that the purpose of revitalizing domestic demand and consumption be spread not only to the private sector but also throughout the entire ministry, urging all-out participation. As a result, the Consumption Revitalization TF has been launched.

The TF will be regularly operated under the leadership of the Vice Minister, with the ministry headquarters, regional offices, and affiliated organizations focusing on expanding the nationwide campaign and devising effective measures to stimulate consumption. Specifically, it is composed of five divisions: the General Planning Team (consumption promotion planning), the Consumption Promotion Team (consumption promotion events), the Field Support Team (coordination with regional offices and public institutions), the External Cooperation Team (cooperation with associations and organizations), and the Performance Promotion Team (public relations).

Immediately after the meeting, Vice Minister Noh Yong-seok visited Sejong Traditional Market located in Jochiwon-eup, toured the local traditional market and nearby commercial districts, and encouraged merchants on site. He also directly promoted the purpose of consumption revitalization and participated in a shopping campaign. This shopping event goes beyond a simple campaign; it marks the beginning of a nationwide relay for consumption revitalization, focusing on non-metropolitan and depopulated areas, and is expected to expand to major regions nationwide starting in August.

In addition to the atmosphere of boosting consumption through the government-wide livelihood consumption coupons, the ministry plans to continuously promote expanded consumption events such as the Companion Festival and Win-Win Payback, special reimbursements for digital Onnuri gift certificates, and relay shopping events between regional offices and public institutions, taking the launch of this TF as an opportunity.

Vice Minister Noh stated, "This TF serves as the control tower for consumption revitalization and as an execution organization centered on the field," and added, "I ask that each regional office and affiliated organization closely cooperate with local governments, public institutions, and companies to actively promote consumption revitalization programs that reflect regional characteristics so that they can lead to tangible results on the ground."
