Gyeonggi Province Job Foundation Launches Employment Crisis Response Project with 2.75 Billion Won Investment

The Gyeonggi Province Job Foundation is partnering with the Gyeonggi Employers Federation to launch an employment crisis response project.

The provincial job foundation announced on July 30 that it will be recruiting participants for the "2025 Employment Crisis Response Project" from August 11 to 29.

This project is being implemented after Gyeonggi Province was selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's additional regional job project competition, the "Employment Slowdown Response Support Project." The total budget is 2.75 billion won, including 2.2 billion won in national funding and 550 million won in provincial funding.

The support targets are 2,000 employees working in the "Other Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing (C29)" and "Automobile Parts Manufacturing (C30)" sectors in the province, as well as 90 companies in these industries. The two organizations plan to divide responsibilities by industry and provide customized support.

The project will be operated in two parts: the "Worker Support Package," which provides up to 1 million won for health care services such as health checkups, vaccinations, psychological counseling, and prescription medications (including herbal medicine) to employees in the relevant industries; and the "Company Safety Package," which provides up to 5 million won to support companies in these sectors with expenses such as public utility bills, insurance premiums, and the purchase of industrial safety equipment.

Yoon Deokryong, CEO of the Gyeonggi Province Job Foundation, stated, "The core of this project is to reduce the burdens faced by workers and companies in industries experiencing employment crises," and added, "The two organizations will work together to do our utmost to stabilize the local economy and maintain jobs."
