Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will host the world's largest 'drone show' at Turtle Island in Siheung.
On July 29, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that, in celebration of Liberation Day, it will hold the 'Gyeonggi Bada Drone Show' as the summer event of the four-season themed cultural and arts festival 'Gyeonggi-do Munhwa Sagye' for two days from August 15 to 16 at the Wave Park Plaza in Turtle Island, Siheung.
This drone show will be a massive nighttime multimedia performance featuring a swarm flight of 1,500 fireworks drones?the largest scale in the world?set against the night sky of Gyeonggi's summer sea.
In addition to the drone show, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will present a variety of unique pre-program stages, including: ▲LED Tron dance (a dance genre inspired by the 1982 film 'Tron'), ▲Korean traditional dance blended with light, and ▲performances by the Korean traditional music band 'Noreum Machi' and a Korean traditional music a cappella group.
Cho Wonyong, President of Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, stated, "This Liberation Day commemorative drone show, held at the refreshing Gyeonggi sea during the hot summer, will be more than just a spectacle. It will be a cultural and artistic festival imbued with the meaning and emotion of the 80th anniversary of Liberation." He also requested, "As a large number of visitors are expected, please use public transportation as much as possible to ensure smooth event operation and safety."
