Bam Bam Festa, Jeonju Ultimate Music Festival, and More
Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province will host a variety of nighttime festivals throughout August to help citizens and tourists beat the midsummer heat.
According to the city on July 29, the nighttime festivals include the Jeonju Gamak Festival, Korea Night Night Festa Jeonju, and the Jeonju Ultimate Music Festival (JUMF).
From August 7 to 9, the '2025 Jeonju Gamak Festival,' Jeonju's signature summer event, will take place at the main stadium of Jeonju University. The main stage will feature live performances and audience participation events, offering a unique and vibrant summer night experience.
The Jeonju Gamak Festival, which attracts over 100,000 visitors every year, is a leading summer tourism attraction. Visitors can enjoy a variety of side dishes paired with fresh beer produced on the same day by local company Hite Jinro, as well as Jeonju's unique 'Gamaek (store beer)' culture.
On August 9, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the '2025 Korea Night Night Festa Jeonju' will be held at the Palbok Art Factory. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, and organized by Jeonju City.
'Night Night Festa' is a nighttime tourism program held sequentially in ten cities?Busan, Incheon, Gongju, Gangneung, Tongyeong, Yeosu, Jeonju, Jinju, Daejeon, and Seongju?under the theme 'United Emotions of Ten Cities Connected by Light.'
The event will feature a variety of nighttime attractions, including 'Candle Art' created by 10,000 candles, a photo zone, dessert booths representing the ten cities, and a silent DJ party, all designed to add romance to the deep summer night.
Additionally, at Palbok Art Factory, the 'Club The 8' nighttime cultural and artistic performance will be held, featuring DJ Yangbanjang, DJ Dami, DJ Kaju, the UP'S dance team, and the Harlequin dance team.
This program will be held every Friday and Saturday from August 8 to 16, free of charge. Detailed performance schedules can be found on the official Instagram account of 'Jeonju, Nighttime Tourism Specialized City.'
In addition, from August 15 to 17, the Jeonju Ultimate Music Festival (JUMF), Jeonju's representative summer music festival, will be held for three days at the main stadium of Jeonbuk National University.
JUMF features a wide range of genres, including K-pop and hip-hop, rock and band, and ballad, establishing itself as a leading summer music festival that satisfies both the general public and music enthusiasts.
On the opening day, August 15, popular musicians such as FT Island, Glen Check, Romantic Punch, No Brain, and Norazo Metal will deliver spectacular performances to kick off the festival. On the same day, at Moijang in Jeonju Nambu Market, the 'Sori Up Jump Night,' held in conjunction with the Jeonju International Sori Festival, will feature performances by Peggy Good, Samsan, Kim Ddeutdol, and others.
On the second day of the festival, August 16, DragonForce, YB, Crying Nut, and others will present dynamic rock and band performances. On the final day, August 17, emotional musicians such as NELL, Peppertones, Daybreak, LUCY, and Paul Kim will grace the stage, bringing the festival to a grand finale.
No Eunyoung, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, stated, "We hope that Jeonju's diverse nighttime festivals, which will make the hot summer nights cooler and more special, will allow both citizens and tourists to enjoy a fun and safe summer." She added, "We plan to continue developing Jeonju into a leading nighttime tourism city based on its unique cultural and artistic assets."
