Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province announced on July 28 that it participated in the '2025 Local Contents Festa' held at BEXCO in Busan from July 25 to 27, where it promoted the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo nationwide.
During the event, the city operated an Island Expo promotional booth, introducing the expo’s overview and progress, major exhibition and experience programs, and advance ticket discount benefits. The city also carried out various promotional activities, such as distributing leaflets and souvenirs.
The city promoted the Hometown Love Donation Program alongside the Island Expo, encouraging visitors’ interest and participation. At the agricultural and marine products promotional booth, Yeosu’s specialty agricultural products were directly introduced and sold.
Mayor Jung Kimyung visited the venue and personally promoted the Island Expo. He met with the presidents of the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Honam Associations, stating, “The active participation and cooperation of our hometown community members will be a great driving force for the success of the Expo,” and requested their strong interest and support.
In response, Choyongseo, president of the Busan Honam Association, said, “It is meaningful that a world-class Island Expo will be held in my hometown, Yeosu. Together with fellow community members, we will actively participate and spare no effort to provide full support for a successful event.”
