76.9% of Incheon Residents Apply for Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon, Highest Rate Among Metropolitan Governments

On July 28, the Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that 76.9% of Incheon residents completed their applications during the 'Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon Day-of-the-Week Application Period,' which was held from July 21 to July 25. This is the highest application rate among all metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide.


The first round of consumption coupon recipients totals 3,020,069 people, of whom 2,322,794 have completed their applications. Applications using credit and debit cards, both online and offline, accounted for 63.53%, while applications for the local currency, Incheon Sarang Gift Certificate (e-Eum Card), made up 36.47%. The number of in-person applications for the Incheon Sarang Gift Certificate at Eup, Myeon, and Dong Administrative Welfare Centers reached 211,001 cases.


With the conclusion of the day-of-the-week application period, anyone can now apply for the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon regardless of birth year until September 12. For online applications, credit and debit cards can be applied for 24 hours a day via each card company’s website and app, while the Incheon Sarang Gift Certificate can be applied for through the Incheon e-Eum app. For offline applications, credit and debit cards can be applied for at affiliated bank branches, and the Incheon Sarang Gift Certificate can be applied for at Eup, Myeon, and Dong Administrative Welfare Centers.

Incheon City is also launching a 'visiting application' service for elderly or disabled single-person households with mobility difficulties. To use this service, residents can call the Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Center corresponding to their registered address. An employee will visit to receive the application and deliver the consumption coupon. However, this service is only available if there are no other household members residing in the same household.


Meanwhile, the city is designating dedicated teams in each district and county to crack down on illegal distribution of the consumption coupons. The city plans to strengthen consumer guidance and publicity, and will reclaim coupons if illegal distribution is detected.
