This year's report highlights five key issues based on Samsung E&A's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategic framework. Last year, Samsung E&A established its own unique ESG strategy to strengthen the execution of sustainable management. The 2024 report is structured around this strategic framework. In particular, it details the company's sustainable management achievements and activities in the five key areas: transition to low-carbon industries, innovation in eco-friendly technology, response to climate change, strengthening of safety and health, and ethical management.

Samsung E&A has continued its efforts to contribute to overcoming the global climate crisis and to achieve carbon neutrality. The company set a goal in 2022 to reach net zero by 2050 and to use 100% renewable energy by 2030. It is promoting energy efficiency at all domestic and overseas sites through the international standard ISO 50001 certification for energy management systems. Additional efforts include converting domestic business vehicles to zero-emission vehicles, purchasing Green Premiums, and acquiring renewable energy certificates. In particular, the company has expanded the use of renewable energy at overseas sites in countries such as Thailand, Hungary, and Mexico by purchasing renewable energy certificates. Furthermore, Samsung E&A has advanced its self-developed environmental energy management system (SEEM-S) to systematically and integrally manage greenhouse gas emissions from all domestic and overseas sites.

The report also introduces Samsung E&A's "Enable, Ahead" strategy, which aims to pursue both sustainable management and solutions to social challenges through energy transition projects and technological innovation. "Enable" is an energy transition and eco-friendly solution centered on Enable Low (low-carbon), Enable Zero (carbon-free), and Enable Circle (environment). "Ahead" is an innovative solution that strengthens the EPC execution system through technologies such as digital transformation (DT), automation, and artificial intelligence (AI).

In addition, the report details the latest achievements and activities in each ESG area, including expanded investment in eco-friendly technology companies (environment), enhancement of employee diversity through the "Global Mobility" program (social), and shareholder return policies (governance).

Namkoong Hong, CEO of Samsung E&A, stated, "We will continue to communicate transparently with stakeholders through sustainable management activities," and added, "By further advancing sustainable strategies and innovation, we will take the lead in addressing social challenges such as the climate crisis."
