Central-ro and Daejong-ro to be restricted from August 9 to 16
To reduce traffic congestion during the 'Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival', some city bus routes will be temporarily detoured.
During the festival, which will be held from August 9 to August 16, Daejeon City will implement a complete traffic restriction on Jungang-ro and part of Daejong-ro between Daejeon Station and the former Chungnam Provincial Government Office.
The city plans to detour a total of 29 city bus routes that pass through the downtown areas subject to traffic control during the festival. The detour will be in effect from the first bus on August 6 to the last bus on August 17. A total of 365 buses, including Express Routes 1, 2, and 4, and General Routes 101 and 103, will operate via Daeheung-ro and Uam-ro.
To minimize inconvenience for citizens, the city will install temporary bus stops for each detoured route and provide real-time arrival information through the Bus Information Terminal (BIT).
Nam Sideok, Director of Daejeon City’s Transportation Bureau, stated, "We ask citizens who use the areas subject to traffic control during the festival to check the detoured routes in advance, and we encourage you to use public transportation as much as possible when visiting the event venues." He added, "These measures are essential for the smooth operation of the festival and the safety of citizens, so we kindly request your active cooperation."
