Recently, a wave of support from across the country has been reaching Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, which suffered significant damage due to the recent heavy rainfall.

Various relief supplies, including daily necessities and monetary donations, are being delivered one after another, spreading social solidarity aimed at helping displaced residents quickly return to their daily lives.


According to Gapyeong County on July 25, from July 21 to July 24, a total of about 20 individuals, organizations, and groups participated in donating emergency necessities such as bottled water, instant noodles, instant rice, kimchi, and blankets, as well as making monetary contributions.


Donors are offering their support so that those who lost their homes to the sudden downpour can regain stability as soon as possible.


Gapyeong County stated, "So far, as many as 49 organizations and groups have inquired about how to provide relief supplies," adding, "Anyone wishing to donate or deliver consolation items in the future may apply through the Hope Sharing Team at Gapyeong County Office."


Suh Taewon, Governor of Gapyeong County, said, "We are deeply grateful for the warm support sent from all over the country," and added, "The donated items are being delivered promptly and fairly to affected residents. We ask for your continued interest in recovery efforts and support for those who have been displaced."

Meanwhile, Korea Electric Power Corporation delivered a donation of 100 million won to Gapyeong County on this day.


The donation ceremony was held at the Integrated Disaster Response Center jointly operated by Gyeonggi Province and Gapyeong County, with Kim Dongcheol, President of KEPCO, visiting the site in person to present the donation.


Gapyeong County recently experienced power outages in many areas due to the heavy rainfall, and Korea Electric Power Corporation has been working to restore power by urgently deploying recovery personnel.


Governor Suh Taewon said, "We sincerely appreciate not only the restoration of power but also the donation," and added, "Gapyeong County will mobilize all administrative resources to ensure that residents in the affected areas can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."


Currently, the donated items are being distributed with priority to households in urgent need through township administrative welfare centers and the Integrated Support Center operated by Gyeonggi Province and Gapyeong County.
