Independent research firm Aris analyzed on July 25 that Cocone is expanding into the stablecoin market following its entry into the local currency sector. No investment opinion or target price was provided.
Aris reported that Cocone is currently preparing two new businesses: an overseas simple payment service and a global settlement agency service. Researcher Lee Jaemo stated, "The overseas simple payment service allows foreign tourists visiting Korea to use the same simple payment services they commonly use in their home countries, such as Alipay or WeChat Pay, while in Korea." He added, "The global settlement agency service is scheduled to launch first for sellers on e-commerce online marketplaces."
He explained, "The local currency business aims to increase revenue by providing infrastructure," and, "Cocone is participating in the business through partnership agreements with local currency platform operators such as Bizplay, Kona I, and KT." He further noted, "Cocone is expected to increase revenue by providing infrastructure for payments and settlements after the issuance of local currency."
He also emphasized that Cocone is preparing various collaborations with stablecoin-related companies to build next-generation payment infrastructure. He added, "The company is strengthening its competitiveness through AI-based digital innovation," and, "An AI-dedicated organization will be established with more than 20 professionals to be secured within the year."
Aris projected that Cocone's revenue and operating profit for this year will reach 80 billion won and 20 billion won, respectively.
