Discovering Practical and Creative Proposals for Revenue Generation
The 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee) announced on July 24 that it has selected a total of six winning entries for the "2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo Miscellaneous Revenue Business Ideas Contest."
This contest was open to all citizens, aiming to promote the Islands Expo, attract nationwide interest, and discover creative ideas that could be incorporated into revenue-generating projects.
As a result of the evaluation, "My Own Movie Encountered on the Yeosu Sky Road (Drone Snap)" won the Excellence Award, while five other entries, including "Seommirak," a subscription service for island specialty products, received Encouragement Awards and were presented with the Mayor of Yeosu Award and prize money. The selected ideas are planned to be developed into viable revenue models during the Islands Expo.
An official from the Organizing Committee stated, "We received practical and creative proposals through the contest, and among them, those with feasibility were selected, allowing us to secure business items that will assist in the operation of the Expo." The official added, "We will further develop the winning entries so they can be implemented in actual operations, and plan to pursue them as future revenue-generating projects."
Meanwhile, the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, under the theme "Islands: Connecting the Sea and the Future," will be held from September 5 to November 4 next year at Dolsan Jinmo District, the Yeosu World Islands Expo venue, Gaedo, Geumodo, and surrounding areas.
