37.7% Increase Compared to the Same Period Last Year
Diverse Options Including 3-Door and 5-Door Models
Introduction of the "MINI Friends" Referral Program
The MINI Cooper ranked first in sales in the premium compact car segment for the first half of the year.
According to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association on July 25, a total of 2,135 MINI Coopers were sold from January to June. This represents a 37.7% increase compared to the same period last year, when 1,550 units were sold.
Notably, unlike last year, both the 3-door and 5-door models sold evenly this year. In 2024, the sales ratio was 58.2% for the 5-door model and 18.5% for the 3-door model, but this year, the ratios were 39.8% and 37.1%, respectively.
A MINI Korea representative stated, "Offering a variety of body types and powertrains has been effective in expanding options for consumers looking to purchase a premium compact car."
The MINI Cooper has maximized its sophisticated appeal by modernizing its signature design elements, such as the classic round headlights, octagonal radiator grille, and Union Jack-inspired taillights.
Additionally, the vehicle features a circular OLED display?the first of its kind in the automotive industry?developed in collaboration with Samsung Display, an iconic MINI toggle bar for intuitive control of key driving functions, and a three-spoke steering wheel with fabric straps, all of which create a simple yet modern atmosphere.
Meanwhile, MINI Korea, which marks its 20th anniversary this year, plans to strengthen customer relationships by introducing the "MINI Friends" referral program. Under this program, if a purchasing customer introduces a MINI vehicle to a new customer and the purchase is completed, 100,000 coins?usable like cash on the Vantage app?will be awarded.
