Four-Day Event Held from July 15 to 18

National Pukyong University, Gyeongsang National University, and Pusan National University have launched the "AIoT Project," operating 14 teams across the three universities to strengthen their capabilities in artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.

Pukyong National University, Gyeongsang National University, and Pusan National University announced on the 23rd that they jointly hosted the "2025 AIoT Smart Device Design Project" at KB Injaenium Sacheon from July 15 to 18, over a period of four days and three nights.

This project is a program organized by the Pukyong National University STEM Female Talent Promotion Project Group and the engineering education innovation centers at each university. It was designed to allow engineering students to directly engage in product design using artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, thereby strengthening their technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

A total of 42 students, forming 14 teams from the three universities, participated in the project. Building on remote training conducted in June, they continued with 112 hours of intensive in-person education. The training focused on three main courses from the "WHO'S NEXT. ACADEMY" industry-demand-specialized curriculum operated by the Pukyong National University Engineering Education Innovation Center: △ Practical 3D Design and Manufacturing of IoT Home Appliances, △ Practical Applications of AIoT Edge Devices, and △ IoT Invent-On. Participants received intensive training in IoT technology and device utilization based on open-source platforms.

Son Minyoung, head of the Pukyong National University Engineering Education Innovation Center, stated, "We will continue to strengthen education based on future technologies such as AI and IoT, foster creative and convergent engineering talent, and continuously develop and operate engineering education programs that meet industry needs."

The Pukyong National University Engineering Education Innovation Center was selected in March 2022 for the "Next-Generation Life Style - IoT Home Appliance Industry" category of the Creative Convergence Engineering Talent Development Support Project, supervised by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The center is currently operating specialized programs for students in the College of Engineering and related fields.
