Yangju City announced on July 22 that a riverside experience event was recently held in the area around the Yangju Jang Ukjin Art Museum, organized by the "Jangheung-myeon Nurigil Walking Council."

This event was part of an activity selected for the 2025 Yangju Village Community Public Contest Project, with around 100 participants including elementary school students and local residents from Jangheung-myeon. Participants enjoyed a variety of experiences such as touring the art museum, catching fish in the stream, and playing in the water.

Kim Jaehun, head of the Jangheung-myeon Nurigil Walking Council, said, "This event provided a meaningful opportunity to introduce and allow residents to experience Nurigil in Jangheung-myeon. We plan to hold various events in the future to continue promoting Jangheung-myeon Nurigil."

Mayor Yang Suhyun stated, "It was a meaningful occasion to promote Jangheung-myeon Nurigil and to bring residents together. We will continue to provide unwavering interest and support so that Jangheung-myeon Nurigil can become a central space for communication and unity among local residents."

She added, "Village community projects led by citizens are an important foundation for strengthening the region's self-reliance and restoring community culture. Yangju City will continue to actively support resident-led self-governance activities in the future."

Meanwhile, the "Jangheung-myeon Nurigil Walking Council" was selected as an outstanding community group in Yangju City in 2024, and has been fostering ongoing exchanges and participation among local residents through events such as the Jangheung-myeon Nurigil walking competition held last year and the "Starry Night" movie screening event in June.
