Orion Launches 'Kkobuk Chip Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor' Simultaneously in Korea and the U.S.

Kkobuk Chip Now Features Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor
Distinct Flavors for Export and Domestic Versions

Orion announced on July 22 that it has simultaneously launched 'Kkobuk Chip Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor' (English name: TURTLE CHIPS Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor) in both Korea and the United States. This marks the first time Orion has introduced a new product in Korea and the U.S. at the same time.

'Kkobuk Chip Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor' is a product that infuses the globally popular snack 'Kkobuk Chip' with the taste of yangnyeom chicken, a soul food for many Koreans. The product was planned in response to the global popularity of Korean culture and K-food, with yangnyeom chicken having become a favorite food among foreigners as well.

Kkobuk Chip has won the hearts of global consumers with its unique flavor, distinct shape, and differentiated four-layer texture. It is currently available at over 20,000 stores in the United States, including Costco, Five Below, and Miniso, and is sold in more than 20 countries worldwide, including Europe, Australia, Canada, and China. Since its launch in 2017, cumulative global sales have reached approximately 500 billion KRW, establishing it as a 'global K-snack' following in the footsteps of Choco Pie.

Kkobuk Chip Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor has been tailored to the preferences of consumers in each country, with the export version for the U.S. and the domestic version in Korea featuring different flavors. The export version underwent local consumer testing and was developed to suit American tastes, emphasizing a savory and tangy flavor to deliver a more intense yangnyeom chicken experience. The limited-edition domestic version combines a spicy yangnyeom sauce with added sweetness, perfectly capturing the 'sweet and salty' flavor profile favored by Korean consumers.

In addition, Orion is introducing a limited edition of two flavors in Korea by adding 'Fried Chicken Flavor'. With a crispy texture reminiscent of real fried chicken and a savory, salty taste, it is an ideal snack to enjoy with a cold beer during the hot summer months.

An Orion representative stated, "As Korean flavors are being recognized as global tastes amid the K-food boom, we are pleased to introduce our product in the United States, the home of snacks. Starting with the U.S., we plan to expand sales of Kkobuk Chip Yangnyeom Chicken Flavor to countries such as Canada and beyond, building the 'Kkobuk Chip Snack Road' worldwide."
