Training Practical Personnel Linked to Testing and Certification
and Cooperation in Future Industry Technologies
Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on July 21 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Testing Laboratory for Machinery, Electrical and Electronics (KTC) to foster and support advanced industries.

Established in 1969, KTC is a public comprehensive testing and certification institution that conducts testing, evaluation, certification, and research and development (R&D) across a wide range of fields, including electrical and electronics, metrology and medical devices, mobility, and energy.
The main points of the agreement include: ▲ promoting the creation of industrial ecosystems in advanced fields such as semiconductors, hydrogen, future mobility, and AI, and establishing a cooperative network; ▲ supporting customized R&D for local companies and developing training programs for practical personnel linked to testing and certification; ▲ technological cooperation in future strategic industries; and ▲ preferential support for fees and corporate assistance when Pyeongtaek-based companies undergo testing and inspections for certification acquisition.
With this agreement, the city plans to set up a working-level consultative body with KTC and pursue a variety of joint projects, including upgrading the local industrial base, strengthening the capabilities of related companies, and nurturing talent.
Jung Jangseon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, said, "Combining Pyeongtaek's industrial infrastructure with KTC's testing and certification capabilities will create great synergy," adding, "Based on our partnership with KTC, we will continue to grow as a city centered on advanced industries."
