New Financial Support and Interest Rate Benefits
for Affected SMEs, Small Business Owners, and Individuals
BNK Gyeongnam Bank is proactively and actively practicing mutually beneficial finance through emergency financial support.
On July 21, BNK Gyeongnam Bank announced that it would provide emergency financial support totaling 333.5 billion KRW to aid recovery from flood damage caused by heavy rainfall and other disasters.
The recipients of this emergency financial support are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), small business owners, and individuals who have suffered property damage due to heavy rainfall or other flood disasters. To apply, they must submit a 'Disaster Damage Confirmation Certificate' issued by the relevant local administrative authority to a BNK Gyeongnam Bank branch in the affected area.
Recovery funds will be provided within the scope of the actual damage. SMEs can receive up to 500 million KRW in emergency operating funds, while individuals can receive up to 20 million KRW in emergency living funds. A special preferential interest rate of up to 1.0 percentage point will be offered at the discretion of the branch manager.
In particular, for small business owners, the bank has significantly eased the loan requirements, providing low-interest credit loans of up to 20 million KRW without the need for collateral or guarantees.
Lee Kwangjun, Executive Director of the Corporate Customer Group, stated, "I was deeply saddened as a member of the local community to see the severe damage caused by heavy rainfall and flooding in our region. This emergency financial support has been specially prepared to provide tangible assistance to local SMEs, small business owners, and individuals affected by heavy rainfall and flood damage. BNK Gyeongnam Bank will continue to make efforts to practice mutually beneficial finance as the region's leading financial institution."
Meanwhile, BNK Gyeongnam Bank urgently dispatched the 'BNK Volunteer Group' to Uiryeong County, which was affected by heavy rainfall, to support flood recovery activities.
On July 20, more than 20 employees from headquarters departments and local branches in Uiryeong participated in volunteer activities in Daeeui-myeon, Uiryeong County, working hard to clean up household goods from flooded homes and remove mud and debris.
Starting with recovery support in the Uiryeong area, BNK Gyeongnam Bank plans to expand its recovery assistance, including additional dispatches of volunteer groups and delivery of relief supplies, to other areas such as Sancheong and Hapcheon that have also suffered damage from heavy rainfall, as soon as the extent of the damage is determined.
