Intensive Inspection of Food Establishments Preparing and Selling Foods Favored by Children
in Food Safety Protection Zones for Summer Heatwave Preparedness

Seongsan-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, will conduct inspections from July 21 to July 25 on 58 establishments within the local food safety protection zone that prepare and sell foods favored by children.

This inspection is being carried out to assess hygiene management practices and ensure the safety of establishments that prepare and sell foods favored by children, with the aim of creating a healthy food consumption environment for children in preparation for summer heatwaves.


The main inspection items include: whether high-calorie and low-nutrition foods or foods containing high caffeine are being sold; whether foods that may negatively affect children's emotional well-being are being sold; whether there are any unregistered businesses or sales of unregistered products; whether products past their consumption date are being stored or sold; and whether employees have undergone health checkups and are maintaining personal hygiene.


In particular, the district plans to conduct promotional and educational activities for food establishments to prevent food poisoning, which is prevalent during the summer season.


Kim Su-yoon, Head of the Culture and Hygiene Division, stated, "Managing children's food is the foundation for a healthy and happy future," adding, "We will continue to create a healthy and safe food environment through ongoing inspections."
