Gwangju City will launch fundraising campaigns for two designated projects through the Hometown Love Donation Program in order to realize care and welfare services that citizens can truly feel.

The designated project fundraising under the Hometown Love Donation Program allows donors to directly contribute to specific projects of their choice among those predetermined by local governments.

The two designated projects being promoted this time are the 'Parents Smart Check-in Service' and the 'Ddasoon Gwangju Crime Victim Daily Recovery Service.' The fundraising goal is 80 million won, and the campaign will run until December 31.

The 'Parents Smart Check-in Service' is an AI-based integrated care service that enables donors living away from home to remotely monitor the well-being of their parents residing in their hometown. The system monitors parents' daily activities through the usage of household devices such as mobile phones, GPS, and TVs. If no activity is detected for a certain period, an automatic notification is sent to the donor (guardian). This service will launch in October, with a total investment of 50 million won as a designated project under the Hometown Love Donation Program.

The city will also promote the 'Ddasoon Gwangju Crime Victim Daily Recovery Service,' which provides practical assistance to victims struggling due to sudden crimes. This project supports living expenses, medical expenses, and psychological counseling connection costs, and will be operated with a fundraising target of 30 million won.

Through these efforts, the city plans to strengthen the public safety net for crime victims and establish a more robust support system for their recovery.

Donations for the designated projects can be made through the 'Hometown Love eum' website until December 31. The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won to local governments (such as their hometown) other than their place of residence. The local government uses the funds for residents' welfare, and donors receive tax benefits and can be offered gifts (such as restaurant vouchers and tourism products) worth up to 30% of their donation. Donations up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, and for amounts exceeding 100,000 won, 16.5% is deductible.

Park Yunwon, Director of the Autonomous Administration Division, stated on the 21st, "These designated projects are not simply financial support, but sharing initiatives that realize warm care by gathering the hearts of donors. We will continue to discover a variety of region-specific care and welfare models through the Hometown Love Donation Program."
