On the 18th, the Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters held a video conference with all fire station chiefs in the province to review responses to heavy rainfall and to inspect issues related to the fire at a piloti-structure apartment building in Gwangmyeong City.
This meeting was convened to assess the response status across the province in a situation where consecutive localized extreme downpours and cases of structural fire vulnerability are occurring simultaneously.

During the meeting, the headquarters reviewed the command system for each type of disaster situation, the preparedness of each station, and the preemptive inspection system for fire-prone buildings such as those with piloti structures.
Kim Jaebyeong, head of the Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters, emphasized, "While we must do our utmost to respond to incidents that occur without warning, thorough prevention in advance is essential." He urged, "Each station chief should immediately identify the most vulnerable points in their respective areas today, and personally inspect fire doors, evacuation stairs, and flood control measures."
Meanwhile, the headquarters plans to monitor in real time whether the measures communicated during the video conference are being implemented.
