According to industry sources on July 18, Buchang Bakery will open its 8th branch at the Gwangju Shinsegae Department Store on August 6.


Buchang Bakery is a brand jointly planned by actor Lee Jangwoo and the food content company FG. Since opening its first store in October last year, it has gained significant popularity, selling over 100 million units of its popular product, 'Uyuni Salt Walnut Cake', within just six months. When the first branch opened in Gangnam, the so-called 'open run' crowds caused the waiting time to exceed four hours, drawing considerable attention.


At the Shinsegae Department Store Centum City branch's F&B division, Buchang Bakery achieved record-breaking 'Guinness sales'. The bakery's daily sales are reported to be between 18 million and 20 million KRW, with sales per square meter reaching 2 million KRW. This far surpasses the sales per square meter of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel, which are known to be around 1 million to 1.5 million KRW.

On July 5, actor Lee Jangwoo visited the Buchang Bakery 5th branch at Daejeon Shinsegae Department Store and held an event where he personally handed out 'Pas Walnut Cake (1 piece)' to customers.


Buoyed by its popularity in the domestic market, Buchang Bakery is also actively pursuing global expansion. In the second half of this year, it plans to open stores in major Japanese department stores and continue collaborations with local lifestyle companies.


Lee Kyungwon, CEO of FG, stated, "In the long term, we are also targeting overseas expansion into markets such as the United States and Vietnam."
