Jinhae-gu Buengsooni Factory Spreads Warmth
Local Community Shares with Navy Soldiers
On July 18, Jinhae-gu in Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, delivered 1,000 cups of coffee (worth a total of 2.5 million won) to the Navy Jaejin Unit to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Navy.
The event was held at the cafe 'Buengsooni Factory,' located on Jungwon-ro in Jinhae-gu.
Oh Gwangmoon, CEO of Buengsooni Factory, explained the purpose of the event, saying, "The Navy is a major customer group that frequently uses businesses in the western area of Jinhae, serving as reliable patrons and neighbors to local shops. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Navy's founding, I wanted to express encouragement and gratitude to the Navy soldiers who are responsible for local security."
Despite the rainy and inclement weather, the coffee sharing proceeded smoothly thanks to advance preparations. The presence of the Buengsooni doll, a character inspired by an owl, added vibrancy and smiles to the event.
One of the soldiers expressed appreciation, saying, "I am grateful for the sincerity and warm hearts of the local merchants. During this hot summer, the interest and support from the community provide great strength in military life."
Jung Hyunseop, head of Jinhae-gu District Office, stated, "This donation is a meaningful example of the local community encouraging Navy soldiers and demonstrating mutual prosperity. I hope that, going forward, the region and the military will continue to cooperate and create more opportunities for sharing and unity."
Meanwhile, Buengsooni Factory is a local brand founded in Jinhae in 2022. It is a complex cultural space that combines a cafe, hands-on workshop, and meeting area. By producing goods and desserts featuring the owl character, Buengsooni Factory actively participates in regional events such as the Gunhangje pop-up store and youth entrepreneurship activities, growing together with the local community.
