Intellian Technologies announced on July 18 that it has received final approval for the conformity assessment of Eutelsat OneWeb low Earth orbit satellite communication user terminals from the National Radio Research Agency.
Low Earth orbit satellite communication is characterized by lower latency and faster data transmission speeds compared to traditional geostationary satellite communication. It can be utilized in fields such as maritime, aviation, disaster response networks, and national defense.
Intellian Technologies has received final approval for the conformity assessment of Eutelsat OneWeb low Earth orbit satellite communication user terminals from the National Radio Research Agency. Intellian Technologies expects that this approval for terminal conformity assessment will accelerate the expansion of low Earth orbit satellite communication services in Korea. KT SAT has received cross-border supply approval with Eutelsat OneWeb, and SK Telink is in the process of obtaining approval. These companies plan to cooperate with Eutelsat OneWeb to expand maritime services and private sector services in domestic communication shadow areas.
Intellian Technologies CEO Sung Sangyeop said, "By obtaining approval for our terminals ahead of competitors, we have secured an opportunity to lead the domestic low Earth orbit satellite communication market." He added, "We expect that low Earth orbit satellite communication services will continue to expand in various fields in Korea, including maritime, general businesses, and national defense."
