Jeonnam Vice Chairman Lee Cheol: "Volunteer Fire Brigade Is a Reliable Safety Net for the Community"

Lee Cheol, Vice Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council (Democratic Party of Korea, Wando 1), attended the inauguration and retirement ceremony of the 10th and 11th Soan Volunteer Fire Brigade Chiefs held at the Soan Anti-Japanese Creation Center in Soan-myeon, Wando-gun on July 17, 2025, to convey his congratulations. At the event, Jang Chunsam, the 10th chief, stepped down, and Lee Wooseok, the 11th chief, was newly inaugurated.

In his congratulatory speech, Vice Chairman Lee said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to outgoing Chief Jang Chunsam for his dedication to the safety of the local community," and added, "I also congratulate the newly appointed Chief Lee Wooseok and look forward to his future contributions."

He also emphasized, "The Jeonnam Provincial Council will be a strong supporter so that the Volunteer Fire Brigade can play an even greater role in the safety of the local community," and added, "We will actively work to improve the treatment and welfare of the brigade members."

Vice Chairman Lee went on to mention Lee Minseok, who was newly appointed as the chief of the Wando Fire Station, stating, "I highly appreciate the significant role you played in resolving fire-related civil complaints in the Wando area during your dispatch to the provincial council." He further expressed his sincere gratitude to the brigade members, saying, "Thanks to the dedication of the volunteer firefighters, the future of safety in Soan-myeon looks even brighter."
